Raya Holding activities are currently spread across four lines of business: retail & distribution (contributing to around 75% of the company.s operations), IT, the Contact Center business and, more recently the newly introduced RAYA Smart Buildings. The company currently stands as one of the flagship companies in Egypt.s communications and information technology (CIT) industry, commanding a high market share in the local mobile distribution market and capturing a considerable portion of the IT segment with a broad array of services. It is also considered one of the largest contact centers in Egypt. RAYA.s IT business is present in Algeria, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, and lately, the US. On the retail level, RAYA closed 18 of its unprofitable outlets in 2009, reducing the total number to 34 (under the two brands: RAYA and Phono. RAYA also operates three outlets in Algeria.
Holding of several subsidiaries, and has mainly been operating in three lines of business, namely the IT, Contact Center and Trade lines of business. It has recently added a fourth line to its operations by expanding its investment into the Real Estate development market through the establishment of Raya Lease. Raya Holding also owns shares in several other companies and is adopting a business diversification strategy by entering into potentially profitable markets.
Intends to establish Hi-Tec plastic recycling plant (EGP 70M investment). Signed financial lease contract with Palm Hills (EGP 90 M). To invest EGP 480M in smart buildings till end of 2012. To establish heavy trucking company in a joint venture with Citadel. Recently opened fourth core operation: Building, managing and leasing of corporate property with integrated systems for security, communication, and energy and waste management. Partnered with GPX Global Systems Inc. Expanded investments into commercial real estate development through Raya Smart Buildings. Signed contract with Fawry for provision of data center hosting services. Established two real estate companies (EGP 150 million).
