origins date back to 1907. established & run by Arafa Family since then Al-Arafa is Egypt's largest vertically integrated, large-scale textile and garment manufacturer, exporter and retailer.
The Group focuses on all elements of creating apparel, from the spinning of yarn to the manufacturing and distribution of finished garments. The company is headquartered in Cairo, and the textile and garment manufacturing facilities are located in the private free zones in the 10th of Ramadan City, Port Said, the Sixth of October City and Beni Suef.
Al-Arafa is primarily an export-oriented company, exports contributed 89% to its 2008 revenues. Exports are mainly directed to customers in Europe and the USA. Customers include chain retailers and department stores such as Marks & Spencer, GAP, TARGET as well as international fashion brands such as Valentino, Jaeger and Haggar.
Arafa Holding owns a controlling interest of 60.0% in the UK-based BMB Group. In line with the strategy to grow its international profile through boosting the relations with various foreign partners, the holding company acquired Melka brand, a highly recognized Swedish menswear brand, and its European distribution channels during the second quarter of 2007, followed by purchase 100% of Specialty Retail Group Limited on march 31st , 2008.
Arafa Holding announced recently that it is to establish a joint venture with a Portuguese partner, which will generate sales from reputable customers in Portugal and Spain. That new company has expected sales of EUR10 Million.One of leading export oriented and integrated apparel and textiles manufacturers in MENA. Three key segments, Textiles, Apparel & Tailoring and Retail. Prominent apparel retailer and wholesaler in Egypt, UK and most recently Scandinavia. Owner of 35% stake in Forall Group which owns .PAL ZILERI. brand.
Established a UK holding (EGP 403.2 M, 79.5% stake) called Baird Group. Licenses to produce 93 brand names. Signed MoU with Spanish Apparel Consulting to manufacture up to one million shirts annually for export to EU.
