insurance companies.
Signed agreement with several large financial institutions to
establish holding company for investment to operate in Egypt
with USD 100 M as capital. Cooperated with Bahrain-based
banks Ithmaar, Shamil & Egara. Portfolio counts 15 agriculture
and industries companies in which it holds controlling shares of
which major companies in the fields of: horticulture production,
exports & processing. Several wrapping & packaging
manufacturers. Detergents, paints & fertilizers manufacturers.
Electricity producers.
EFG-Hermes & Faisal Islamic Bank of Egypt have launched
Egypt.s first mutual fund that invests only in shariah-compliant
companies. The EGP 50 M is be managed by the Hermes Fund
and overseen by the Faisal Islamic Bank.s shariah supervisory
board.
