Suez Cement, first incorporated in 1977 with plants in Kattameya & Suez, is one of the largest cement producers in Egypt.With an industrial network of five production facilities in Suez, Kattameya, Tourah, Helwan and El Minya, Suez Cement produces approximately 12 million metric tons of clinker per year. In August 2005, purchased around 99% of ASEC Cement (currently Helwan Cement).
During 2006, entered the concrete sector through the acquisition of 52% of Ready Mix Beton -RMB (currently Ready Mix production Co.-RMP) and Ready Mix Beton Egypt -RMBE (currently Ready Mix Universal Production Co.- RMPU).
Operates using cement annual production capacity of 12mn tons. Captured a 25% local market share in 2009, selling 11,565k tons. 10% export market share in 2009, exporting 37k tons.
Aims to relocate some of its production lines away from Cairo to a new, energy-efficient site east of capital.
To build a new factory belongs to Suez Lime Co. This new plant is to begin operations in 2011 at a production capacity of 300 tons/day.
